40 years of excellence!

How often can you celebrate the commitment and excellence of someone who has been with the same company for 40 years? Yesterday we got the opportunity to honor Bill McCollum for 40 years with RE/MAX Boone Realty. He was one of the first people that my grandparents hired in 1969 to work for them and help as a closing broker. Today, Bill is the premier closing broker in Boone County and helps close thousands of property each year.

One of the greatest traits of a person is their loyalty and character. Bill's loyalty to our company, our agents and family cannot be measured and his character is matched by few. Thanks Bill for all of your great advice, wisdom and friendship. We love you!

Success Celebrations

Yesterday was the RE/MAX Mid-States Success Celebration. This year it was a great banquet as usual, but was bittersweet for many. In one of the worst years in real estate, many were not very excited to think about attending a success celebration. Our industry numbers show that on average 15% of our membership did not "come back" to experience 2009. So for those who are still in the business - yes the numbers may be down, yes you may have experienced a drop in income and expenses are on the rise, but you are the remaining, the professional, and the successful. What a great reason to celebrate - there are many opportunities ahead!

Where can you get CE?

One year to go until license renewal. Every year at this time many of us would head out to the annual conventions and fill our CE requirements. It used to be that CE was offered at limited times. Today it seems that every week you can find a class either at our board, a surrounding board or on the RSN Satellite that will satisfy our requirements. Many times these classes are free or offered at a discounted price. Next year as we get closer to renewal the classes will be offered, but instructors start to charge premium pricing. If you want to get some good education make sure you are frequently checking your e-mail for announcements. This winter is the time to get it completed and get good information to increasing your professionalism.

Children's Miracle Challenge

Did you miss our company golf tournament? This year we held our fourth annual RE/MAX Miracle Challenge at Old Hawthorne. Teams came from Columbia, Jefferson City, and surrounding cities. It was a great day and we thank all of our sponsors for their contributions. RE/MAX is a corporate sponsor of the Children's Miracle Network and this year we were recognized as an outstanding business at the local gala. Thank you to all the agents who participated and helped sponsor the event.

Agents with a Heart

This weekend RE/MAX Boone Realty agents and staff participated in the American Heart Association Heart Walk. 85% of all customers say that they are more likely to work with someone who contributes to community charities. We raised money for a great cause and had a fun time chatting while getting in a good morning walk at Stephen's Lake. This is comprehensive training on assistants, teams, business planning, prospecting, goal setting and more. Information is available online, classroom style, television, podcast, and streaming video.
